到福和河濱公園散步的經驗 ~ A Walk Through Fuhe Riverside Park

Yesterday at 6:30 A.M., I left Shuiyuan Dormitory and walked to Fuhe Riverside Park. It’s a seven-minute walk from our dorm. The park follows the Shuiyuan Highway and the Xindian River. Both sides of the Xindian River are parkland, and they also have bike paths. Between the river and the path, there is fresh grass and colorful flowers, among which the red, orange, and purple ones are especially beautiful. If you look up from the bike path, you can see the highway. Because it’s new, and and the bottom is painted red and purple like the flowers, it doesn’t look bad, but because you can always hear the cars up above, it’s pretty noisy.
There were a lot of people on the bike path at 7 A.M. Half of them were going to work, and half of them were exercising. Among the people working out, some were on bikes, some were running, and some were walking and talking with their spouses. There were also some elderly men and women doing calisthenics. I saw one person doing tai chi. I think there weren’t more because the cars made the park so noisy. There was a middle-aged man on a bridge smoking a pipe and dropping food for the fish below. I couldn’t see his beloved fish, so maybe they aren’t interested in foreigners. On the other side of the river, close to the water, I saw two people carrying bags. I realized they were picking up trash.
Because the young people had already gone to school, there wasn’t anyone on the park’s football fields. But an athletic field near the park was pretty busy because there was a high school baseball team practicing there, and there were also people in their 30s and 40s running on the track.
Because I was a little shy, I didn’t chat with anyone. Afterwards, I walked straight down Keelung Road, turned left on Xinhai Road, and took that back to the ICLP. Both of those roads had a lot of cars, so it was too noisy for me to hear my radio. At a food stand on Keelung I bought two steamed vegetable buns, and at a food stand on Xinhai, I bought an egg cake. Both were delicious. It really was a nice walk, I went to class in a good mood. If you like biking or running, Fuhe Riverside Park is a good place to work out.Interesting Places, Schoolwork, Taiwan, 中文
