If you ever find yourself screaming at the protagonists of a story because they’re such idiots, don’t blame the characters. Blame the author. It means he was too lazy to craft intelligent characters and an intriguing plot. The storyteller should be the only person in the room who knows the purpose of all the parts he has set in motion and the only person in the room who knows where they will all rest in the end.
